Metro Hoopers is a premier youth basketball program rooted in New York City’s rich basketball tradition and driven by elite level experience at the collegiate and professional level. Since 2010, we’ve been committed to training well rounded athletes developing both their game and their character through a system built on grit, skill and discipline.

What began with a passion for teaching and a vision for excellence has grown into one of the Tri-State area’s most respected programs. From weekend clinics and developmental teams to elite competition and advanced training, Metro Hoopers provides players of all levels with a pathway to grow, compete and thrive.

Both of my kids have been playing for Marlon Smith for several seasons. His knowledge of the game is superior compared to any other program they have participated in. They have improved exponentially under his direction and I am proud of the confidence level they have achieved. His instruction is invaluable.
Marlon runs drills to help players develop their skill, but also takes the time to explain why they are doing certain things on offense and defense, helping players truly understand the game. This has developed their basketball IQ and my children can now read a court while bringing the ball up and anticipate offensive and defensive plays.
